I am a seidr - a Norse 'shaman' for those who are unfamiliar with the term. It has been a long journey for me, from being a Christian to what I am today. The reason for the change was that I never really fitted into the Christian mold.
There were many things that I had experienced, some of which I still experience today, that were not part of the Christian doctrines, and indeed would have been considered anathema to them. An example is the presence of my Spirit Guides, whom I began to recognise long before I even became a Christian. I was told that such an experience was unacceptable, and even considered a sign of demon possession, by many Christian pastors and elders. So in the end I had to make a decision: Either I deny the experiences, or change my beliefs to accommodate them. Fortunately I chose the latter.
