I see it like this: humanity is so caught up in the mind’s perception of the outer world—what feels rational, logical, and conscious—that they mistake it for true awareness. But to me, that’s not consciousness at all. It’s more like being stuck in a dream, unaware of the deeper truth of who we are.

I agree what you are saying.
But largely especially the atheists believe strongly in Sciences. They can't accept something that is irrational, cannot be proven. Perhaps, to them, seeing is believing. That's where "awareness" differs in meaning.
